Ingredients
Niacin (500 mg) In certain amounts niacin — in the form of nicotinic acid — has been shown to help maintain normal cholesterol levels. A secondary function is to support normal hepatocyte conversion of very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) particles into low density lipoprotein (LDL) particles, which helps maintain healthy arteries. Other forms of niacin (niacinamide or nicotinamide) do not help to maintain healthy cholesterol.
This product is utilizing BIO-tract® technology, which is a controlled release delivery system. BIO-tract helps keep amounts of nicotinic acid available for absorption over an extended time frame, maximizing effects and helping to minimize a flushing reaction, which is often common with higher amounts of niacin.

Details
nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin tablets deliver 500 mg of niacin to help maintain normal cholesterol levels. Niacin provides a useful method for helping you maintain normal cholesterol levels and supporting cardiovascular health. However, conventional niacin supplementation sometimes causes a set of very unpleasant side effects — itching, tingling, sweating and even shortness of breath. These symptoms are collectively known as a Niacin Flush. In the past, these symptoms have been problematic and discouraging for many who might benefit from using niacin.*
Now, taking advantage of patented technology — the BIOtract® delivery system — nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin has the ability to provide a steady, gradual release of niacin into the bloodstream. This helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels, particularly in regard to levels of high-density lipoproteins (HDL), or “good” cholesterol — which works to support cardiovascular health — while also helping to reduce the unwanted side effects commonly associated with niacin use. nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin tablets are scored to facilitate less than full serving sizes and are designed especially for use under the supervision of a prescribing health professional.*

FAQ
What is Slow Release Niacin? Niacin is a specific type of B-vitamin which comes in many different forms. One of these is called nicotinic acid, and in higher amounts it has been found to help maintain normal cholesterol levels. However, as higher amounts of niacin can sometimes generate sensations of flushing, sudden warmth and itching, nutraMetrix Slow Niacin uses the latest manufacturing technology to mediate its release into the bloodstream, delivering the benefits while minimizing these unwanted side effects.*
What is a “Niacin Flush?” Flushing is a common side effect of niacin use, when niacin is consumed in higher amounts. Flushing may be associated with temporary itching and tingling, feelings of warmth and headache, and even a temporary reddening of the skin. This is true particularly when beginning or increasing niacin use. These effects seldom require discontinuation of niacin use but, to minimize them, nutraMetrix Slow Niacin makes use of BIO-tract technology to regulate niacins release into the bloodstream.
Who should take nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin? Adults (over the age of 18) looking for support of their cardiovascular health and the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels. NutraMetrix Slow Niacin is suitable for use by both men and women, but may only be used under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.*
What is the recommended serving size of nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin? The recommended serving for adults is one tablet per day, taken in the morning or evening, or as directed by your healthcare professional.
Can nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin be used with other products containing Vitamin B? As this product may only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional, this is a question best left to their discretion. If the decision is made to combine nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin with other Vitamin B products, it is recommended that they not be taken together, as this is more likely to aggravate the flushing effect nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin is specifically designed to reduce.
Does nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin need to be taken on an empty stomach? No, this product does not need to be taken on an empty stomach. Your healthcare provider can answer all questions and provide all advice related to using nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin.
Which products are best combined with nutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin? NutraMetrix Slow Release Niacin can be effectively combined with many other products which are designed to support cardiovascular health, such as Isotonix® Resveratrol and OPC-3®, Heart Health™ Advanced Lipitrim® Ultra and Heart Health™ Essential Omega III. Slow Release Niacin works in a manner distinctly different from any of these and would provide additional benefits to most heart health programs already in place.
